Premier Bank opens 20 Islamic banking windows nationwide
Premier Bank PLC inaugurated 20 Islamic banking windows across branches in different regions of Bangladesh, expanding access to Shariah-compliant financial services.
The launch underscores the bank's commitment to Shariah-based banking.
According to a press release, the bank held the inauguration ceremony at its head office at Shanta Pinnacle with guests.
Premier Bank Chairman Dr Arifur Rahman inaugurated the windows as chief guest.
Independent Director M Nurul Alam, FCS, Managing Director Md Monzur Mofiz, Shariah Supervisory Committee Chairman Principal Dr Mohammad Shahjahan Madani, deputy managing directors and other senior executives attended the ceremony.
Arifur said the launch reflected the bank's commitment to Shariah-based banking services.
"Premier Bank remains committed to delivering high-quality Shariah-based banking services to customers," he said.
Nurul described the expansion as timely, citing growing demand for Islamic banking services in Bangladesh.
Monzur said the new windows would allow customers to access Shariah-compliant deposits, investments and other Islamic banking services more conveniently.
"As part of our commitment to strengthening Islamic banking services, Premier Bank continues to expand its reach while prioritising customer convenience and service excellence," he said.
In his welcome address, Shahjahan emphasised the importance of strict Shariah compliance and governance standards in Islamic banking operations.
He said the expansion of Islamic banking services must be accompanied by efforts to maintain customers' trust and confidence.
