BOU and Rabindra University sign MoU to strengthen media education collaboration

Bangladesh Open University (BOU) and Rabindra University have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote collaboration in media and communication education. The agreement was formalised at a ceremony held at the Rabindra University conference room in Uttara, Dhaka.
The MoU aims to jointly offer a specialised undergraduate course titled TV and Visual Media: Production-Making Process, while also enhancing academic and professional cooperation between the two institutions. The collaboration will focus on strengthening institutional capabilities, promoting knowledge exchange, and facilitating skill development for media professionals and students.
BOU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr A B M Obaidul Islam and Rabindra University Vice Chancellor Professor Syed Mohammad Shahed were present at the signing ceremony.
BOU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Professor Dr Dil Rowshan Jinnat Ara Naznin and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Saeed Ferdous also attended the event, alongside senior officials and media experts from both universities.
Dr Md Shafiqul Alam, Registrar of BOU, and Lt Col (Retd) Mahmud Ul Alam, Registrar of Rabindra University, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor Dr A B M Obaidul Islam said, "This MoU marks a new beginning of academic synergy between the two institutions. It will significantly contribute to developing contemporary skills in the media and communication sector."
He added that both universities will jointly organise training sessions, workshops, research initiatives, and media projects. The partnership will also provide students with hands-on experience through internships and practical training, enhancing their professional preparedness in the evolving media landscape.
