Bangladesh Open University hosts team management workshop

Under the steady guidance of Professor Dr. A. B. M. Obaidul Islam, the Honourable Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh Open University, a new chapter in nurturing harmony and collaboration unfolded today at the university's Gazipur main campus. The university's Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) hosted a day-long workshop on "Team Management and Effectiveness of Conflict Resolution"—a vital step towards fostering a cohesive and productive working environment.
Gathering at the Teacher's Seminar Hall, 43 Joint Directors and equivalent officers from various divisions and offices convened on Tuesday, 27 May 2025, to sharpen their skills under the vigilant oversight of Professor Dr. Dil Rowshan Zinnat Ara Nazneen, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education). The atmosphere was charged with a shared purpose: to embrace teamwork's enduring values while mastering the art of resolving conflict with wisdom and grace.
The session opened under the chairmanship of Professor Dr. Md. Serazul Islam, Director of IQAC, who eloquently reflected, "By enhancing our skills and changing our perspectives in team management, we can build an effective and integrated work environment." His words stirred the room, reminding all that conflict resolution transcends office walls—it shapes the very fabric of life. He illuminated pathways and strategies to dissolve interpersonal friction and nurture understanding.
Following this, Professor Dr. Mohammad Zahir Raihan, Additional Director of IQAC, guided the participants through the pillars of effective team leadership: from pre-emptively sharing meeting objectives, clarifying expectations, and fostering solution-focused dialogue, to involving key members in planning and defining clear protocols. His insights painted a roadmap for empowered collaboration.
In an inspiring hands-on exercise, attendees formed teams to tackle real-world challenges, practising problem-solving techniques that promise to ripple outwards into their respective departments, strengthening bonds and fostering collective success.
The workshop was further enriched by the presence of Professor Dr. Mohammad Mamunur Rashid, Additional Director of IQAC, whose support underscored the university's commitment to continuous growth.
This workshop was more than a training session—it was a celebration of the timeless truth that when minds unite with purpose and empathy, conflicts soften, and true progress dawns. With these efforts, Bangladesh Open University continues its noble journey toward an enlightened, harmonious future, where teamwork blossoms and challenges transform into opportunities.
