Banglalink signs pledge to GSMA disability inclusion principles

Banglalink, the country's leading digital operator, has become the only company in Bangladesh to pledge support for the GSMA Principles for Driving the Digital Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities, reinforcing its commitment to building an inclusive digital nation where no one is left behind.
The GSMA is a global organisation that unites the mobile ecosystem to discover, develop, and deliver innovation that is foundational to creating positive business environments and driving societal change.
The GSMA Principles are built upon three pillars: digital inclusion across organisations, understanding how to serve persons with disabilities, and innovation to create accessible products and services.
By adopting these principles, Banglalink joins a global movement to continue its efforts in creating products and services that are inclusive to all, raising awareness about disability inclusion, and ensuring that people can participate in the digital world regardless of their physical abilities.
"At Banglalink, we firmly believe that access to digital services and modern technology should be a fundamental right, not a privilege limited by physical ability," said Johan Buse, CEO of Banglalink.
"As a digital operator committed to inclusive progress, we recognise our responsibility to ensure that the digital revolution benefits everyone. By pledging our support to the GSMA's Principles for Disability Inclusion, we are taking a crucial step toward breaking down longstanding barriers that prevent people with disabilities from fully participating in the digital world. This commitment is not just symbolic—it reflects our broader ambition to build an inclusive digital ecosystem where services are accessible, experiences are equitable, and opportunities are shared by all."
The company has already taken various crucial measures to achieve digital inclusion for people with disabilities. It has revamped and simplified its website to enhance web accessibility for people with disabilities. By installing ramps at office premises and customer care centres across the nation, the company has also improved physical accessibility.
Banglalink has also continuously worked to promote inclusive values and raise public awareness in our society through regular social media initiatives about disability inclusion. In association with Proyash, Banglalink is also strengthening educational integration by facilitating assistive technology within learning spaces for children with disabilities.
