Customers of the NRB Commercial Bank will now avail Islamic banking services from all branches of the bank.

The bank's Shariah-based Islamic banking window titled "Al Amin" will be operated to provide such services. The bank has 83 branches, 400 sub-branches, and 589 agent banking points.

The NRB Commercial Bank, which started its journey as a fourth generation bank in 2013, launched Al Amin in January 2020, and the banking window was initially operating at its eight branches.

Talking about the bank's expanded Islamic financial services, SM Parvez Tamal, chairman of the NRB Commercial Bank Limited, said they are introducing Islamic banking services at all branches across the country to increase the participation of people from all walks of life.

His organisation has got an opportunity to come closer to the people by providing them with Islamic financial services, he added.

The NRB Commercial Bank had recently applied to the Bangladesh Bank, seeking permission to provide Islamic banking services from its all branches. On Monday, the central bank gave approval to it.
