12th Asian Tourism Fair to open in Dhaka on 18 September
The three-day 12th Asian Tourism Fair (ATF) 2025 will begin on 18 September at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka, with Nepal joining as the prime partner country.
The fair will continue through 20 September.
At a press conference held at a city hotel today (15 September), it was announced that this year's fair is being organised by the travel magazine Porjoton Bichitra with the support of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism. The fair aims to showcase the growing opportunities in Bangladesh's tourism sector and strengthen regional cooperation.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines is the title sponsor, Crown Plaza Dhaka Gulshan is the hospitality partner, while the Philippines and the Maldives are participating as partner countries.
Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation Chairperson Saima Shaheen Sultana announced the details at the press conference. Also present were Lynn R Gutierrez, deputy chief of mission at the Philippine Embassy; Ali Shah, deputy high commissioner of the Maldives; Mohammad Shamsul Karim, GM (Sales) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines; Karthi VK, general manager of Crown Plaza; and other tourism industry representatives.
The fair will feature 180 booths across two halls, with participation from local and international hotels and resorts, airlines and cruise companies, tour operators, travel agencies, theme parks, government tourism agencies and foreign embassies based in Dhaka.
Visitors can attend daily from 10:00am to 7:00pm. Entry costs Tk30, but admission is free with online registration. Entry coupons will also give visitors a chance to enter a raffle draw to win airline tickets and attractive travel vouchers.
Highlights include special domestic and international travel package offers, a children's art competition, business-to-business (B2B) sessions, destination and product presentations, panel discussions, seminars and cultural programmes.
The fair will be inaugurated on 18 September at 3:00pm by the Adviser to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Sheikh Bashir Uddin, with the ministry's secretary attending as the guest of honour.
