Banglalink employees donate one-day salary to aid 21,000 households

The employees of the country's third largest mobile operator Banglalink, have donated their one-day salary to help out 21,000 severely affected households during the Covid-19 outbreak. 

As a corporate social responsible organization, Banglalink has also made financial contributions to the relief campaign, says a press release. 

Bangladesh Sena Kalyan Sangstha and Bangladesh Army will support Banglalink to distribute the relief among 21,000 severely affected households. 

Erik Aas, Chief Executive Officer at Banglalink made an announcement on the initiative at a virtual meeting, which was also participated by Major General Sajjadul Haque, BSP, SUP, afwc, psc., Chairman, Sena Kalyan Sangstha. 

Taimur Rahman, Chief Corporate & Regulatory Affairs Officer, Banglalink and Muniruzzaman Sheikh, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer, Banglalink. 

Appreciating the initiatives Major General Sajjadul Haque said the, "Banglalink and its employees have shown its commitment to serving the society once again by taking this initiative. We are pleased to partner with Banglalink for this noble cause." 

Banglalink's Chief Executive Officer Erik Aas said "As a socially responsible corporate organization, Banglalink has already stood by the affected communities addressing their needs during the Covid-19 crisis, and we will continue to make these efforts."

He thanks Bangladesh Sena Kalyan Sangstha and Bangladesh Army for supporting them to carry the relief campaign forward.

Banglalink distributed relief materials among 14,500 households in the first phase of its relief campaign in April and May, 2020.
