Banglalink strengthens network ahead of Eid travel rush
As millions of people prepare to travel home to celebrate Eid with their loved ones, Banglalink has strengthened its nationwide network to help customers stay connected throughout their journey.
The digital operator said the initiative reflects its people-first approach and its belief that connectivity is not only about technology, but also about people, relationships and shared moments. Eid, it said, is a time of emotion, togetherness and belonging, when staying connected carries special meaning.
By reinforcing its network ahead of the festive rush, Banglalink aims to provide reliable service so customers can focus on spending time with the people who matter most.
Over the past year, the operator has modernised more than 750 network sites across the country, improving coverage, increasing capacity and enhancing overall network performance. Banglalink said these improvements are particularly important during Eid, when travel and communication surge as families reunite across cities, towns and villages.
Customers in upgraded areas can now enjoy internet speeds of up to 35% faster, allowing smoother browsing, clearer video calls and uninterrupted streaming. Whether travelling on highways, passing through transport hubs or returning to their hometowns, customers are expected to benefit from improved connectivity throughout the Eid holidays.
To further support seamless communication, Banglalink has also introduced WiFi Calling, or VoWiFi. The feature allows customers to make and receive calls over WiFi, which can be especially useful in places where mobile signals are weaker, such as inside buildings or high-rise apartments.
Huseyin Turker, chief technology and information officer of Banglalink, said: "Eid is a special time when millions of people travel home to be with their loved ones and share moments that truly matter. Our priority has been to ensure that connectivity quietly supports those moments. By strengthening our network across the country and introducing solutions like WiFi Calling, we want customers to feel reassured that they can stay close to their families and friends, wherever their Eid journey takes them. Because for us, connectivity is not just about technology, it is about helping people stay close to the ones they care about."
