Protest outside Titumir College brings Mohakhali traffic to a standstill
To ease congestion, the DMP has implemented traffic diversions

Students of Government Titumir College blocked both lanes of the road in front of the campus this afternoon (15 September), demanding that the institution be declared an independent university.
The demonstration brought traffic to a standstill for vehicles travelling from Gulshan-1 towards Amtoli–Jahangir Gate in Mohakhali and in the opposite direction.
Rahman Shelly, deputy commissioner of Gulshan Traffic Division, confirmed the matter and said diversions have been put in place to ease congestion.
According to a DMP advisory, vehicles traveling from Uttara that want to reach Gulshan-1 via Amtoli should alter their route. Instead of proceeding directly, they are instructed to make a left turn at Kakoli and use the route that goes through Gulshan-2, ultimately arriving at Gulshan-1 by way of Police Plaza.
Similarly, vehicles coming from Jahangir Gate or Mohakhali that are headed toward Amtoli and Gulshan-1 should also adjust their path. They must first head north and then make a U-turn in front of either the Banani Cemetery or the Army Stadium before continuing on to Gulshan-2.
For general north-south travel, vehicles can use the Mohakhali flyover, which allows traffic from both Jahangir Gate (heading north) and from the north (heading south to Jahangir Gate) to bypass the ground-level traffic below, said the DMP advisory.
