The prime minister and his cabinet members left the premises at around 11:15am after paying their respects.
In the visitors' book, the prime minister wrote:
"Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim.
After the end of fascist rule and oppression, through a free and fair election, the people aspiring to democracy have begun a new journey on the path of democracy by directly electing their representatives. Alhamdulillah. I express gratitude to Almighty Allah.
As the newly elected Prime Minister of Bangladesh, along with the newly formed cabinet, I pay humble tribute to the martyrs of the Great Liberation War of 1971, whose sacrifices gave us our independent Bangladesh. From the war of independence in 1971 to the struggle in 2024 to protect the freedom of the country and its people, as well as to all martyrs of movements to establish democracy throughout our history, I extend my deepest respect.
I and we believe that the martyrs aspired to establish a safe, humane, democratic, independent and sovereign Bangladesh. We have begun our work to establish the Bangladesh envisioned by the martyrs. May Allah grant us the ability to implement every programme declared before the people. I once again pray to Almighty Allah for the forgiveness of all martyrs."
