The trade war between the United States and Canada has escalated into an unprecedented diplomatic and economic stalemate. Canada has announced retaliatory tariffs on more than 700 US goods worth $20 billion, in retaliation for President Donald Trump's sudden imposition of 50 percent tariffs.
