The Janatar Dal and Aam Janatar Dal are set to receive registration from the Election Commission.
The announcement was made today (4 December) by Akhtar Ahmed, senior secretary of the Election Commission Secretariat.
He said, "Several parties' activities were re-investigated. During the review, the existence of district and upazila-level offices of these two parties was confirmed. The commission has made a policy decision to grant registration as they fulfilled the necessary conditions."
"To ensure there are no objections regarding the registration of these parties, a notice will be published in the media on 9 December. The notice will appear in newspapers tomorrow (Friday)", Akhtar added.
Earlier, the Aam Janatar Dal General Secretary Tarek Rahman staged a hunger strike lasting nearly 134 hours after the party was initially denied registration by the commission.
In September, 143 new political parties had applied for registration to contest the upcoming parliamentary election, according to the commission.
