To inspire a culture of reading during idle travel time, the voluntary organization Swapnojatree Foundation, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Chittagong Rainbow, has launched the "Swapnojatree Leisure Library-16" at the Green Line Bus Counter in Dampara, Chattogram.

Under the slogan "Read books in leisure, become enlightened people," the initiative aims to utilise the often-tedious waiting time at bus counters by offering passengers access to books.

The library was inaugurated by Professor Dr Mohammad Nazim Uddin, vice chancellor of East Delta University, at a ceremony chaired by Tasnuva Haider Nova, president of Rotary Club of Chittagong Rainbow.

Distinguished guests included Md Iftekhar Monir, registrar of Premier University; Osman Gani Mansur, president of Chittagong Rotary Center and General Secretary of Commonwealth Journalists Association Bangladesh; Keramatul Azim Pintu, Club Advisor and Past President; Md Moniruzzaman, RIPSA Coordinator; Zaheda Akhter Mita, charter president of the Rotary Club of Chittagong Rainbow; and Shahadat Hossain Chowdhury, president of Rotary Club Chattogram Smile.

Zaheda Akhter Mita, charter president of the Rainbow Club, said, "Rotary Club of Chittagong Rainbow is proud to support this noble initiative, which promotes a healthy alternative to drug abuse and mobile addiction among the youth. Such efforts can have a transformative impact on society."

Safayet Shihab, head of Library Operations at Swapnojatree Foundation, explained the vision: "Many people spend long hours waiting at bus counters.
