Intern doctor detained over installing hidden camera in women's washroom at Tangail Medical College Hospital

An intern doctor has been detained over allegations of installing a hidden camera inside a women's washroom at Tangail Medical College Hospital.
The accused, Raihan Kabir Emon, was handed over to police today (26 January), and legal proceedings are underway, said HM Mahbub Rezwan Siddiqui, additional superintendent of police (Tangail Sadar).
Hospital Director Dr Md Abdul Kuddus said a five-member investigation committee has been formed to probe the incident and instructed to submit its report within three working days.
Emon has been temporarily suspended following the incident, he said.
Earlier in the day, fellow intern doctors confined both the hospital director and the accused inside the hospital premises.
Upon receiving information, a magistrate, along with members of the police, Detective Branch (DB), and the army, arrived at the scene to bring the situation under control.
According to intern doctors, the incident occurred yesterday evening when a female intern doctor found a spy pen camera inside washroom number 907 of the hospital's surgery ward.
When she came out with the device, Emon reportedly tried to seize it, leading to a physical altercation. He also reportedly attempted to confine the female doctor in a room and later destroyed the camera.
Intern doctors further alleged that Emon had been involved in inappropriate physical conduct with female intern doctors over the past five years.
The same evening, the female doctor submitted a written complaint alleging sexual harassment to the hospital director.
