ICT Division white paper maps corruption, irregularities and systemic failures of past 15 years
Various recommendations have been included in the white paper to ensure transparency, accountability and good governance
The white paper of the ICT Division was published on its website (ictd.gov.bd) today (8 January).
A task force formed to probe irregularities and mismanagement of various ICT-related initiatives taken during the previous government in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division has finally submitted the white paper after a long investigation and review.
The white paper presents a detailed picture of irregularities, corruption, administrative weaknesses and structural problems that occurred in various activities of the ICT Division in the last one and a half decades.
In addition, various recommendations have been included in the white paper to ensure transparency, accountability and good governance in the future.
With the approval of the chief adviser, the ICT Division formed this task force and issued a notification on 3 April 2025.
The main objective of forming this task force was to prepare an 'ICT white paper' after examining all types of contracts, project DPPs, all audit reports, and investigation reports prepared by the ICT Division during the previous government, and investigating irregularities and mismanagement in this regard.
The government hopes that this white paper will serve as an important guideline for institutional reform of the ICT Division, prevention of corruption, and ensuring people-friendly services, said a press release of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology.
