TechConnect 2025 showcases renewed push for digital Bangladesh
More than 300 participants from government bodies, mobile operators, ICT firms, fintech companies, enterprises and academic institutions attended the conference, Huawei Bangladesh said in a media release issued today.
Bangladesh's accelerating digital journey took centre stage today (26 November) as Huawei and the ICT Division jointly hosted "Bangladesh TechConnect 2025" in Dhaka, bringing together top policymakers, regulators, industry leaders, global experts and innovators on one platform.
Speaking as chief guest, Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser for Posts, Telecommunications and Information, said the government's renewed direction in digital transformation is already producing visible results.
"Bangladesh began its digital transformation journey long ago, but in recent months, we have recalibrated our methods. Our progress is already showing. With support from our partners, we want to empower people through digital services," he said while joining the event virtually.

The event, held under the vision "Building a prosperous, innovative and inclusive Bangladesh through excellence in ICT", was inaugurated following a welcome address by Shish Haider Chowdhury, secretary of the ICT Division.
Shish Haider highlighted the significance of public-private partnerships in sustaining the country's digital momentum.
"Since the inception of this initiative, Huawei has stood by us. With the participation and cooperation of all partners, we are confident that the TechConnect platform will achieve its goals," he said.
Md Mamunur Rashid Bhuiyan, additional secretary of the ICT Division, outlined the government's strategic priority areas, while Julian Gorman, head of GSMA Asia Pacific, shared insights on reducing the digital divide across the region.
A panel discussion on industry digitisation featuring representatives from BTRC, mobile network operators and Huawei focused on leveraging existing digital infrastructure for wider economic transformation.
The event also reflected the broader collaboration between Huawei and the ICT Division.
