Curated Cars 2026 brings Dhaka’s rarely seen cars into the spotlight

Dhaka's car scene has learned to expect a spectacle whenever the words "Curated Cars" go up on a poster. This year's edition did not disappoint. The event by Rahimoto and Cars and Conversation, at Aloki, brought together a wide mix of rare, modified and well-preserved cars with enthusiasts exploring between a parking lot, a glasshouse and the main hall, each space seemingly trying to outshine the other.
The collection started in the parking lot, filled with JDM (Japanese Domestic Models) cars, including Civic Type Rs, a Mitsubishi Evolution duo, and a pair of Subaru STIs. Two very clean Honda Accords and a pristine Honda Prelude were also among the cars on display outside.
Within the glasshouse, the selection moved from Japanese performance to European classics and modern machinery.

A pair of MGs sat together, the classic MGB by the modern MG Cyberster, which made the perfect contrast. The centerpiece of the glasshouse was a Fiat X1/9 and a Fiat 500, both finished in identical shades of blue. A few feet away were a Fiat 1500 and a Volkswagen Bus.

The trio shared the spotlight as one of the main displays of the event. They were surrounded by several other notable cars. Two Nissan GT-Rs and a Honda section featuring cars rarely seen together, a Honda S2000, a one-of-one NSX, and a one-of-one FK8 Civic Type R.
On the other side of the hall stood a BMW V10 M5, one of the fastest cars at the event, parked next to a BMW 5 Series wearing Rahimoto livery. Toyota had a strong showing as well, with the fastest GR Yaris of the country joined by an EE90 fitted with a 3SGTE engine transplant.
Not every car at Curated Cars was built for speed. A pristine Mercedes W123 added an old-school charm to the display, and a factory-conditioned Land Cruiser FJ40 stood out in red. There were also more modern luxury and performance cars inside the hall, such as a Porsche Cayenne Turbo and a Porsche Boxster. A Ford Mustang and a classic Cadillac represented the American side of the car scene.
Outside the main hall, sponsor stalls surrounded the event area, with music filling the venue as visitors moved between the displays and stalls.
But more than the cars themselves, the event was a gathering for genuine enthusiast. Owners brought in their modified, maintained, and years-old cars, and visitors came to see rare cars, to compare builds, and to discuss with others who had the same interest.
The event brought together cars from very different parts of the automotive world. Some heavily modified, some kept close to their original form, and others took visitors back to a time when these models were still common on the road. That mix is what made the event stand. Rather than focusing on one particular style, Curated Cars gave enthusiasts a chance to see a broad selection of machines in one place.
