A Dhaka court today (4 October) placed Imtiaz Selim, media coordinator of the banned organisation Hizb ut-Tahrir, on three-day remand in an Anti-terrorism Act case.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahin Reza passed the order as police produced Imtiaz before the court pleading to place him on a seven-day remand in the case lodged with Shahbagh Police Station.

A team of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) arrested Imtiaz Selim from the city's Bashundhara residential area this morning.

The arrestee was also wanted in two criminal cases filed with Pallabi and Khilgaon police stations. Two other cases are now under trial against Imtiaz.
