Man remanded for 3 days in case over murder of 7-month-old daughter
The accused was sent on a three-day remand in a case filed after the infant died from injuries allegedly inflicted by her father during a family dispute in Turag.
A Dhaka court today (26 July) placed a man on a three-day remand over the alleged killing of his seven-month-old daughter, who died after he allegedly threw her to the ground during a family dispute in the capital's Uttara.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Zakir Hossain passed the order following a police petition. Prosecution Sub-Inspector Helal Uddin confirmed the ruling.

According to the case statement, during an argument with his wife, Lima Akhter, on 15 July in Uttara's Balur Math area, accused Kabir Islam allegedly snatched their seven-month-old daughter, Rafa Moni Kobita, from her grandmother's arms and threw her onto the road.
The infant was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with critical injuries and died while undergoing treatment on 16 July.
Locals detained Kabir and handed him over to police after the incident. He was later produced before a court under section 54 and sent to jail. Following the child's death, her maternal grandmother, Sarmin Akter, filed the murder case with Turag Police Station, naming Kabir as the sole accused.
On 23 July, Investigating Officer SI Mehedi Hasan Faisal sought a three-day remand. The court fixed the hearing for today and granted the petition after hearing the matter.
