'Hare Krishna Hari Bol, Daripalla Taine Tol': Jamaat’s Hindu candidate for Khulna-1 launches unique campaign slogan
My slogan is not about division; it is a call for peace, harmony, and development, he says
The newly announced Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami candidate for Khulna-1, Krisna Nandi, has drawn widespread attention with an unconventional campaign slogan blending religious sentiment with political symbolism.
His slogan — "Hare Krishna Hari Bol, Daripalla Taine Tol" (Hare Krishna Hari Bol, Lift the Scales) — has quickly gone viral on social media and sparked discussion in local political circles.
The "Daripalla" or "Scale" is the electoral symbol of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.
This Jamaat candidate officially began his campaign this afternoon (5 December) in Batiaghata. He currently serves as president of Jamaat's Dumuria Upazila Hindu Committee.
Speaking to journalists, Nandi said, "I want to represent people of all communities. My slogan is not about division; it is a call for peace, harmony, and development."
Mizanur Rahman, secretary general of Jamaat's Khulna district unit, said a committee has been formed to coordinate campaign activities on Nandi's behalf. "On the very first day, we received tremendous enthusiasm and response from local residents," he added.
A businessman by profession, Nandi hails from Chuknagar in Dumuria. He is contesting from Khulna-1, which comprises Batiaghata and Dakop upazilas.
