Zubaida may arrive in Dhaka tomorrow morning to accompany Khaleda to London: Tarique's adviser
Dr Zubaida Rahman has been coordinating the entire medical process from London, he says
Dr Zubaida Rahman, wife of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, may return to Dhaka on Friday morning (5 December) to accompany BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to London for advanced medical treatment, according to Tarique's Adviser Mahdi Amin.
In a Facebook post today (4 December), Mahdi stated that although Khaleda Zia has shown some improvement, a decision has been made to admit her to a specialised hospital in London to ensure the most advanced and modern treatment.
Dr Zubaida Rahman has been coordinating the entire medical process from London, he added.
Mahdi wrote that Dr Zubaida is attempting to leave London today and arrive in Dhaka tomorrow morning. She is expected to personally accompany Khaleda Zia on a Qatari air ambulance equipped with advanced medical facilities.
However, he also mentioned that alternative arrangements are in place depending on flight schedules and circumstances. If the air ambulance departs before Dr Zubaida's arrival, London-based specialist Dr Richard Bill, who is already in Dhaka, along with Khaleda Zia's daughter-in-law Sharmila Rahman, several doctors, and officials will accompany the BNP chief on the flight.
Mahdi further said that Tarique Rahman himself is overseeing all aspects of the ongoing process, including regular briefings with the medical board, direct communication with specialised hospitals and physicians in London, preparations of the Qatari air ambulance, and the travel and logistical arrangements.
