Govt reinstates former DMP official Kohinoor Mian, overturns 2011 dismissal
The government has reinstated former deputy commissioner (west) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Md Kohinoor Mian, overturning an order that dismissed him from service in 2011.
According to a gazette notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday, the previous dismissal order in two departmental cases against Kohinoor Mian has been revoked following a review of his appeal.
The notification stated that two criminal cases filed over the same allegations had already been disposed of by the court. After the cases were concluded, Kohinoor Mian submitted a petition seeking reconsideration of the earlier dismissal decision.
Following an examination of the petition, the president approved the cancellation of the dismissal order. As a result, the order issued on 22 February 2011 removing him from service has been annulled.
The notification further stated that the period during which Kohinoor Mian remained dismissed will be counted as part of his service tenure. He will also be entitled to receive all outstanding salaries, allowances and other benefits in accordance with existing rules.
