Govt to procure 1 cargo LNG, 1,05,000 MTs fertiliser

Following a proposal from the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, the Petrobangla would procure one cargo LNG from the spot market from Vitol Asia Pte Ltd, Singapore at a cost of around Tk569 crore by following international quotation collection method

The government today (25 June) approved separate proposals for procuring some one cargo LNG and 1,05,000 metric tonnes of fertiliser to meet the growing demand of the country.

The approvals came from the 24th meeting of the Advisers Council Committee on Government Purchase (ACCGP) held at the secretariat with Finance Adviser Salehuddin Ahmed in the chair.

Following a proposal from the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, the Petrobangla would procure one cargo LNG from the spot market from Vitol Asia Pte Ltd, Singapore at a cost of around Tk569 crore by following international quotation collection method.

In response to a proposal from the Ministry of Agriculture, the Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) would procure 40,000 MTs of MOP fertiliser under the second lot from Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC) under state-level agreement at a cost of around Tk166.89 crore with per tonne fertiliser costing $342.

In response to another proposal from the Ministry of Agriculture, BADC would procure 25,000 MTs of TSP fertiliser under the second lot from Groupe Chimique Tunisien (GCT), Tunisia under state-level agreement at around Tk167.75 crore with per tonne fertiliser costing $550.

In response to another proposal, BADC would procure 40,000 MTs of DAP fertiliser from OCP NUTRICROPS, Morocco under state-level agreement at around Tk346.48 crore with per ton fertiliser costing $710.
