Man arrested over rape, murder of a girl in Chuadanga

Police arrested a man today for his alleged involvement in killing a seven-year-old girl after raping in Chuadanga.
The victim was a student of a local primary school in Parkestapur village under Damurhuda upazila of the district.
The arrestee Mominul Islam is from the same village.

Victim's father lodged a case with Damurhuda Model Police Station in this connection.
Chuadanga Superintendent of Police Zahidul Islam said, "The girl returned home from school Saturday afternoon. Later she went outside in search of her mother, who was not at home at that time.
Then Mominul told the kid that he will help her finding her mother. Later he brought the girl to a bean field, behind the Modna Union Parishad. Mominul there raped and strangled her to death. Then he eloped the spot."
The SP added, the victim's family members were searching for her since then. Later villagers found the girl's body at a bean field and informed police. Police recovered the body.
The body was taken to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, official added.
