RU Chhatra Dal leader expelled for 'objectionable comments' on female students
RU Proctor Mahbubor Rahman said the university has taken note of the comment and will issue a show-cause notice to Milon

A leader of BNP's student wing Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) at Rajshahi University (RU), Anisur Rahman Milon, has been permanently expelled from all party memberships for making "objectionable comments" about female students.
The controversy began when the administration of "July 36 Hall" issued a notice on Monday (1 September), summoning 91 female students for returning to the hall late.
The notice was, however, withdrawn the next day after it faced widespread criticism.
Before the notice was withdrawn, the Rajshahi University Reporters' Unity posted a photo about the news on its Facebook page.
The photo was shared on another Facebook group by a female JCD leader, where Anisur Rahman Milon, the vice-president of the Shah Makhdum Hall unit of JCD, commented, "These are not students, these are unpaid sex workers," referring to the 91 female students of the July 36 Hall who were late.
His comment led to widespread criticism and protests from students.
A protesting student said, "Women are afraid to run in elections because of cyberbullying. What had happened in Rahamatunnesa Hall has happened again, with 91 students of July 36 Hall."
Protesters called for "exemplary punishment" for Milon.
A written complaint has been filed against Milon.
On Thursday afternoon, Rajshahi University's Chhatra Dal unit President Sultan Ahmed submitted the written complaint at Motihar Police Station.
However, no case has been filed yet, said Gaziur Rahman, spokesperson of the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police and additional deputy commissioner.
The university unit of JCD formed a two-member investigation committee, which found Milon guilty. JCD's RU unit president Sultan Ahmed Rahi, said Milon's membership was initially suspended but was later permanently revoked after the investigation.
The university's Proctor Mahbubor Rahman said the university has taken note of the comment and will issue a show-cause notice to Milon.
RU Student Adviser Amirul Islam Konok added that the university's Cyberbullying Prevention Cell is taking the matter seriously.
