E-cart service launched at RU for student transportation
E-cart service has been launched for students at Rajshahi University to ease transportation problems on campus and reduce travel costs. The service is initially introduced with five e-carts under the initiative of the Rajshahi University Alumni Association (RUAA).
Today (26 November), the e-cart service was inaugurated by Rajshahi University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Saleh Hasan Naqib. University officials and RUAA leaders were present at the ceremony. Before the inauguration, RUAA leaders handed over the five e-carts to the university administration.
RUAA leaders said the service will operate across the campus daily from 8:30am to 9:00pm. Students will need to pay Tk5 per ride. Each e-cart can accommodate 15 to 20 students at a time.
RUAA President Rafiqul Islam Khan said that the service has initially been launched with 5 e-carts, and another e-cart will be added to expand the service. He added that RUAA will continue to implement various programs for students' welfare in the future, including scholarships.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Saleh Hasan Naqib praised the initiative and expressed hope that RUAA will continue to work for the development of students in the future.
