The protesting students of National University (NU) on Sunday formed a human chain in front of Jatiya Press Club in the capital demanding the continuation of ongoing and previously announced exams.

Under the Banner of general students of National University, around 50 students formed the human chain around 1.30 pm.

Mina Al Amin, convener of the movement "The NU authorities postponed our exams as per the instruction of the Education Ministry. We want the examinations to continue. Seven colleges affiliated with Dhaka University have

been successful in realising their demand. It's possible to take our examinations as well."

"If the authority does not meet our demands, we must move for tougher movement", he added.

The tests include the second year exams for the 2019 Degree Pass and Certificate Course, Masters final examination for 2018 session and all other professional courses.

The students in Gazipur also demanded the continuation of exams under national university rejecting the authority decision publishing a new schedule for honours fourth year practical, Masters and degree exams.

They formed a human chain in front of National University Gate in Gazipur and blocked the Dhaka-Mymensingh road for around 30 minutes.

During this time, they demanded to take their exams by March and threatened to go for tougher movement if their demands are not met soon.

They also submitted a memorandum to the vice chancellor of the national university, but restart their protestation while not getting any positive result from the authority and blocked the road.

However, the students withdrew their protestation after getting assurance from NU exam controller Badruzzaman to take logical decisions over the issue.

Earlier, NU authorities published a revised schedule for all postponed examinations following the government's instructions amid protests.

All the postponed examinations would be held as per the revised schedule from 24 May, which is published on the website – www.nu.ac.bd.
