World’s top universities outside United States 2025

The University of Oxford has retained the top spot in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for a record-breaking ninth consecutive year, bolstered by significant improvements in industry engagement and teaching. Of the 100 top-ranked universities, 63 are located outside United States, with United Kingdom leading the pack with 12.
*Scores based on five indicators: teaching, research environment, research quality, international outlook and industry
