Research must be fruitful and world-class : National University VC

Speaking as the chief guest at the orientation program for the new researchers admitted to the MPhil Leading to the PhD program in the 2024-25 academic year of the Liberation War and Bangladesh Research Institute, affiliated to the National University, National University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr ASM Amanullah said, "Currently, the research activities in this country are not of high quality, the research should be fruitful and world-class."
He further said, "Researchers will continue to contribute to their research. There is no point in doing research just for a degree. Research must be done to ensure quality. To improve the standard of research, the National University has launched the MPhil Leading to PhD program. As part of this, renowned researchers and senior professors of the country have been included in the research program. Any academic support will be provided for the MPhil Leading to PhD research."
National University Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Lutfar Rahman was a special guest at the event. In addition, renowned researchers who are already Adjunct Faculty also spoke. The teachers are Sardar Aminul Islam, a professor of sociology at Dhaka University, and Md. Ferdous Hossain, Professor of Political Science; Shah Kawsar Mustafa Abululai, Professor of Philosophy; and Professor Dr. Shah Ehsan Habib from Sydney, Australia (joined via Zoom).
ILBS Director (Executive) Professor Dr Awlad Hossain presided over and conducted the orientation programme. Twelve fellows of the 4th batch of MPhil to PhD, teachers, and senior university officials attended.
