IUBAT’s CTHM Alumni organise memory sharing programme

The College of Tourism and Hospitality Management (CTHM) of the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) has organised a memory sharing programme styled 'Golden Memory Sharing by the THM Alumni' to celebrate the university's 30th founding anniversary.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the programme was held through a virtual platform on 8 February, said a media statement on Saturday.
Prof Dr MA Hannan, former registrar of IUBAT; AKM Sharfuddin, director, alumni affairs and placement office; Prof M Aman Ullah, founder and former chair of CTHM delivered their speech at the virtual event.
From the CTHM alumni, Md Alamgir Hossain; deputy general manager of Platinum Hotels; Farhad H Mazumder, consultant and business development director at Integrated Hospitality Solutions; Tanjir Hasan, sales manager of Ascott Hotels Dhaka; Anup Kumar Sarkar, Chef-de-Partie, InterContinental Doha; Biplab Kanti Das, deputy director, center for career development at Green University of Bangladesh; spoke at the event.
Besides, Samiul Haque Suhan, regional sales manager of Japan Tobacco International (JTI); Mohammad Jasim Uddin, food and beverage manager, Le Meridien Dhaka; and Tanvir Ahmed, business development executive at University of Canada West, were present on the occasion.
During the event, all the speakers highlighted their memories in time of their studentship at the IUBAT.
Besides, that they recalled their memories with Prof Dr M Alimullah Miyan, founder vice-chancellor and a pioneer of non-government universities in Bangladesh for his dedicated activities.
Shaikh Ershad Hossain, chair of CTHM delivered welcome speech at the event, while Farzana Al Ferdous, coordinator of CTHM offered vote of thanks to the guest speakers and participants.
Other faculty members of CTHM namely Mohammad Abu Horaira, Yusuf Hossein Khan, Mohammad Musa and Aparna Devi, also joined the virtual event.
