IUBAT hosts first International sports observation week

The International Programmes Office of the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT), in collaboration with the International Students' Committee, organized the inaugural International Sports Observation Week from September 7 to 9, 2025. The event focused on uniting students through sports activities held at the university's playground.
The week featured football and basketball competitions, energising the campus as students from 15 countries engaged in spirited matches.
The tournament finals took place on 9 September. In boys' football, Team B defeated Team C. Mohamed Omar Bulle from Somalia, who scored five goals, was named both Man of the Match and Player of the Tournament. In the girls' basketball final, Team Yellow beat Team Red. Krisna Kumari Raika from Bhutan was recognised as Player of the Tournament for her standout performance.
Professor Dr Abdur Rab, Vice-Chancellor of IUBAT, and Professor Dr Mohammad Mahmudur Rahman, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, presented trophies and medals to the winning teams at the closing ceremony.
Other attendees included Professor Dr Momtazur Rahman, Registrar; Professor Dr Utpal Kanti Das, Chairman of Computer Science and Engineering; Sadekul Islam, Associate Professor and Director of International Programmes Office; Forhad Hossain, Associate Professor and Coordinator of English and Modern Languages; and Al Amin Sikder Shihab, Deputy Director of Public Relations and Placement. Faculty members and staff also participated.
By spotlighting international student participation in sports, the initiative advanced IUBAT's commitment to cultural exchange, sportsmanship, and unity.
