Demanding resignation of CA Yunus: Former MP Sabina placed on 48-hour remand in anti-terror case
The case alleges that the accused conspired to destabilise the country’s unity, public security, and sovereignty by demanding the resignation of Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus

A Dhaka court has granted a 48-hour remand for Sabina Akter Tuhin, former president of Dhaka North Jubo Mohila League and former lawmaker from a reserved women's seat, in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Partha Bhattacharjee issued the order today (30 June) following a hearing in the morning.
Investigation officer Sub-Inspector Muhammad Farhan Ibn Gafur of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station produced the accused before the court and sought a seven-day remand for interrogation.
Tuhin's lawyer, Morshed Alam Shahin, sought bail and appealed for the remand to be cancelled, while the public prosecutor argued in favour of the remand. After hearing both sides, the court approved a 48-hour remand.
On the night of 22 June, the Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested Sabina Akter Tuhin from her father's residence in Aona village of Sholla union, Nawabganj upazila in Dhaka.
The following day, a court ordered her to be sent to jail in connection with the case.
According to the case statement, on the morning of 4 April, around 7am, a group of 14 to 15 activists from the Jubo Mohila League staged a sudden procession in front of the Planning Ministry in the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area.
Sensing the presence of police, the group fled the scene.
The case alleges that the accused conspired to destabilise the country's unity, public security, and sovereignty by demanding the resignation of Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus.
A case was filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station on the same day.
