Speaking to TBS at night regarding the shooting incident, he said, "At 7:25pm, two young men entered my office and demanded Tk50 lakh as Eid salami, saying that top criminal Imon had sent them. But I asked them why I should give Eid salami. At one point during the argument, they fired two rounds and fled. Later, police, DB, and army personnel arrived to investigate the matter."

Ali Iftekhar Hasan said the shooting incident is being taken seriously and investigated thoroughly.

"Authorities are also probing who was behind the incident and the motive behind it," he added.
