A suspected  Rohingya drug dealer was killed in a reported gunfight with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Cox's Bazar Teknaf upazila earlier today.

The deceased is Md Abdul Nasir, 28, from Balukhali refugee camp in Ukhiya.

RAB 15 Teknaf Camp Company Commander Mirza Shahed Mahtab said RAB set up a checkpost at Montolia Puranpara area, on Marine Drive road of the upazila, after being tipped-off about a large consignment of yaba tablets arriving in the area. RAB stopped a group of people at the checkpost, which then opened fire on RAB, forcing law enforcement to retaliate.
