63-year-old man arrested for raping 3-year-old in Bagerhat
A 63-year-old man was arrested in a case filed for over the rape of a three-year-old girl in Fakirhat upazila of Bagerhat.
The accused Alkas Talukdar was arrested last night, said Abdur Razzak Mir, officer-in-charge of Fakirhat Police Station, on Saturday.
The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon in the upazila.

"On Wednesday afternoon, Alkas lured the child into his room with the promise of giving her sweets and then forcibly raped her. Initially, the family tried to hide the incident, but when the child's condition worsened, they took her to Fakirhat Upazila Health Complex on Friday for treatment. Upon learning of the incident, police rushed to the health complex," said the OC.
"The victim's mother filed a rape case against Alkas Talukdar on Friday night. Police arrested the accused the same night," he added.
Dr Fatema Binte Azad, a medical officer at Fakirhat Upazila Health Complex, said, "Injuries were found on the child's genital area. She has been referred to the OCC Centre at Khulna Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment."
