‘You are deceiving the new generation, history will not forgive you,’ says Barrister Suman before court hearing

Former MP Syed Sayedul Haque Suman, popularly known as Barrister Suman, made remarks hinting at the government, saying that those deceiving the new generation would not be forgiven by history.
"They are burning down the country. Save the country. You are deceiving the new generation, history will not forgive you," he said before being presented in court today (21 July). However, he did not specify whom he was referring to.
Suman was brought to the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate's Court, where Magistrate GM Farhan Ishtiaque, following a hearing, granted a petition to show him arrested in an attempted murder case filed with Mugda Police Station.
Suman's lawyer, Liton, confirmed the development.
Suman was brought to the courtroom from the court lockup at around 10:08am under police security. The court then granted the prosecution's application to show him arrested in the case. He was later taken back to the lockup.
According to the case details, on 18 July last year, Dhaka Judge Court lawyer Abdul Haseth Shamim was returning home after court duties. On the way, in Babu Doctor's Alley under Mugda Police Station in Dhaka, he was struck by a rubber bullet that reportedly hit his hand, forehead, chest, jaw and stomach. He later recovered after receiving treatment.
On 1 September, Shamim filed a case with Mugda Police Station, naming 51 people, including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Suman is listed as accused number 25 in the first information report (FIR).
Suman was previously arrested in the capital's Mirpur area around 1:30am on 21 October last year. The next day, a court granted a five-day remand in another attempted murder case involving Jubo Dal leader Hridoy Mia, an assistant cook at Bangaliyana Bhoj restaurant. Suman has remained in custody since then.
