3 sentenced to death in 2012 Faridpur murder case
One of the three convicts was present in court when the verdict was delivered, while another accused died during the trial proceedings in the case involving four accused.
A Faridpur court today (28 July) sentenced three people to death for the murder of vegetable trader Md Faisal Sheikh in 2012.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Md Badiuzzaman of the First Additional District and Sessions Judge's Court delivered the verdict around noon.
The convicts are Chan Sardar, Md Babul Akand and Tara Sardar. Of them, Babul Akand was present in court when the verdict was announced, while the other two remain absconding.

Another accused in the case, Md Shahin, died during the trial proceedings. A total of four people were charged in the case.
Public Prosecutor Advocate Chowdhury Zahid Hasan said the court ordered that the three convicts be hanged until death for their involvement in the murder.
"The prosecution has received justice in this case. There were four accused in total. One died during the proceedings, while the remaining three have been sentenced to death," he told reporters.
According to court documents and the case statement, Faisal had been involved in a dispute with the accused over the vegetable trade at Shariatullah Bazar in Faridpur town on 5 September 2012.
The prosecution said the accused lured Faisal to an area beside an under-construction building near Faridpur Medical College Hospital and murdered him in a premeditated attack.
Md Shahin, the prime accused, allegedly stabbed Faisal in the back from behind. He was initially admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital and later died while being taken to Dhaka for advanced treatment.
Before his death, Faisal told his mother, Firoza Begum, about the incident and identified those involved, according to the prosecution.
