The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested three leaders of the Awami League and its affiliated bodies in separate drives across the capital for allegedly attempting to create unrest through sudden street processions.

The arrestees are Abdul Matin Master, 52, member secretary of Dhaka South unit of Krishak League; Mostak Fakir alias Bagha, 38, vice-president of Jubo League's Ward-71 unit; and Haji Alauddin, vice-president of Keraniganj Model Thana unit of the Awami League.

According to DB sources, Abdul Matin Master was detained in a drive conducted in the Matuail area last night, while Mostak Fakir was arrested today (23 April) in another drive by a separate DB-Wari team.
