2 unexploded crude bombs found on metro rail track
The recovered explosive devices were then safely disposed of and neutralised at a secure location, ensuring there was no further threat
Two unexploded crude bombs were found on the metro rail's track near the Kazipara station in the Kafrul Police Station area this morning (21 November).
The find prompted a swift response from the Bomb Disposal Unit of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, who safely rendered the devices inert.
The incident occurred at around 11:30am today.
According to an incident report from the CTTC's Bomb Disposal Unit, the two crude bombs, commonly known as "cocktails," had been thrown onto the track but failed to detonate.
Upon arrival, the unit conducted a rapid risk assessment. Following their Render Safe Procedure (RSP), they successfully removed the unexploded bombs from the metro track, preventing any potential disaster.
The recovered explosive devices were then safely disposed of and neutralised at a secure location, ensuring there was no further threat.
All evidence collected from the scene was handed over to the authorities concerned at Kafrul Police Station for further investigation and legal action.
