Pressure cooker bomb found, defused in Savar after 14 hours
The pressure cooker, wrapped in black electrical tape, was found inside a blue plastic drum at the Sadapur Goper Bari Laltek Ghora Mosque field around 1:30am, police said.
A bomb-like pressure cooker found in an open field near a mosque in Savar's Sadapur area was defused by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police's bomb disposal unit around 14 hours after it was discovered today (12 August).
The bomb was defused around 3:30pm after the unit took necessary security measures, according to the latest information.
The bomb disposal unit reached the scene around 1:45pm and ordered the area to be cleared before carrying out the operation.

The pressure cooker was found inside a blue plastic drum at the Sadapur Goper Bari Laltek Ghora Mosque field around 1:30am, police said.
Locals first spotted clothes, a Quran and the pressure cooker inside the drum. They later removed the pressure cooker and left it in the mosque field, said Sub-Inspector Imran Hossain, in-charge of Savar's Bhabanipur Police Camp.
Police were informed about the suspicious object around 8am and cordoned off the area.
Earlier, SI Imran had said the pressure cooker was wrapped in black electrical tape and that the bomb disposal unit had been informed after police suspected it could be an explosive.
According to locals, three unidentified people left the plastic drum in the mosque field during the night.
The incident comes amid an ongoing Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) operation in nearby Shyampur.
