Kabir was detained on 14 December and placed on a seven-day remand on 16 December.
A Dhaka court has placed Md Kabir, an associate of prime accused Faisal Karim Masud alias Daud Khan, on a fresh five-day remand in connection with the murder of Sharif Osman bin Hadi, spokesperson of the Inqilab Mancha.
Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Sefatullah passed the order after a hearing this afternoon (23 December).
Following the completion of a seven-day remand, Detective Branch Inspector Faisal Ahmed, the investigation officer, produced the accused before the court today and sought another seven days of remand.
In the remand application, the investigation officer said Kabir had been interrogated in detail while on remand from 16 to 22 December. During questioning, the accused disclosed names and addresses, described the prior planning of the incident, and admitted to assisting the named and other accused in going into hiding after the crime. Kabir is described as a close associate and friend of accused Faisal.
The application further stated that although the accused provided some information related to the case, he avoided disclosing most crucial details. For identifying and arresting the instigators and planners of the murder and for the sake of a proper investigation, further remand was sought.
Kabir was detained by RAB during a raid in Narayanganj in the early hours of 14 December. On 16 December, a court granted a seven-day remand.
So far, nine people have been arrested in the case and have been taken on remand for varying periods.

Hadi was initially taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and later to Evercare Hospital. As his condition deteriorated, he was flown to Singapore by air ambulance on 15 December for advanced treatment, where he died on 18 December.
Following the incident, Inqilab Manch Member Secretary Abdullah Al Jaber filed a case of attempted murder with Paltan Police Station on 14 December, which was later converted into a murder case after Hadi's death.
