Lynching of Hindu youth in Mymensingh: 12 accused put on 3-day remand

A Mymensingh court today (22 December) placed 12 accused on a three-day remand in connection with the killing of Dipu Chandra Das in Bhaluka upazila of Mymensingh district four days ago.
Senior Chief Judicial Magistrate Shahdat Hossain passed the order, said court inspector Sheikh Mostasinur Rahman.
Those who remanded were identified as Ashiqur Rahman, 25, Quaiyum, 25, Limon Sarkar, 19, Tarek Hossain, 19, Manik Mia, 20, ershad Ali, 39, Nijum Uddin, 20, Alamgir Hossain, 38, Miraz Hossain Akon, 46, Azmal Hasan Sagir, 26, Shaheen Mia, 19 and Nazmul, 21.

On 19 December, Apu Chandra Das, younger brother of Dipu filed a case with Bhaluka Police Station.
Police arrested the 12 individuals from different parts of the district.
Dipu Chandra Das, 28, a local garment worker, was beaten to death by a mob over alleged blasphemy in Bhaluka Upazila of Mymensingh district on Thursday (December 18). His body was later set on fire.
