Hadi murder: Court freezes 8 bank accounts of prime accused Faisal, associates
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Court's vacation bench judge Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun issued the order.
A Dhaka court today (23 December) ordered the freezing of eight bank accounts belonging to the prime accused, in Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman bin Hadi's murder case, Faisal Karim Masud and his associates.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Court's vacation bench judge Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun issued the order.
Confirming the matter, Dhaka Metropolitan Public Prosecutor Omar Faruk Faruki said the investigating officer of the case, Inspector Faisal Ahmed of the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, applied for suspension of transactions in eight bank accounts linked to the accused and his associates.
"Following a hearing, the court granted the application," he added.
Yesterday, a Dhaka court also imposed a travel ban on Faisal, who has reportedly fled to India through illegal routes.
Hadi was critically injured after he was shot in the head in broad daylight in Dhaka's Paltan area on 12 December.
He was later taken to a hospital in Singapore for advanced treatment, where he died on 18 December.
Following the attack, Abdullah Al Jaber, member secretary of Inqilab Mancha, filed a case for attempted murder on 14 December.
After Hadi's death, Section 302 (murder) of the Penal Code was added to the case.
So far, nine people have been arrested in connection with the murder.
