India's Border Security Force (BSF) has pushed four women and two men into Bangladesh through the Kushkhali border in Satkhira.
Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) handed them over to Satkhira Sadar police station last night (18 June), police said.
Satkhira Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shaminul Haque said, "Three of them were handed over to their families on the same night. The identities of the remaining three are being verified, and they too will be returned to their families once confirmed."
"All six are Bangladeshi citizens," the OC added.
According to Satkhira Sadar police, the individuals had been residing in India for varying lengths of time. Indian police reportedly detained them from different areas in Mumbai and later pushed them back into Bangladesh through the Hakimpur border in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district.
