BNP to hold 16-day Victory Torch Road Show on Month of Victory

The BNP will hold a 16-day special "Victory Torch Road Show on the Month of Victory" as part of the celebration of the 55th Victory Day.
The event will begin on 1 December from the historic Kalurghat Radio Station in Chattogram.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the programme at a press conference at BNP chairperson's Gulshan office in the capital today (29 November).
"In March 1971, the declaration of independence was proclaimed from the Kalurghat Radio Station in Chattogram by then Major Ziaur Rahman. Therefore, Kalurghat is an inseparable part of our independence and Liberation War. This historic Kalurghat Radio Station is where BNP's Victory Month celebrations will commence this year," he said.
As part of the programme, on 1 December, the "Victory Torch" will embark on its journey from the historic Kalurghat Radio Station, a place deeply connected to the memories of Bangladesh's independence and Liberation War, and reach Biplob Udyan in Chattogram on the same day.
The Victory Torch will be led by a distinguished freedom fighter of 1971 and a July warrior of 2024.
Starting from Chattogram, the Victory Torch Road Show and rallies will be held sequentially in Cumilla, Sylhet, Mymensingh, Bogura, Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal, and Faridpur.
In each division, the torch show will also be led by a renowned freedom fighter and a July warrior from that division.
During this 16-day-long special road show celebration, visits will be made to historic sites associated with the independence and Liberation War in each division.
The national anthem, songs of the Liberation War, and patriotic songs will be performed. Selected excerpts from the speeches of Ziaur Rahman, BNP Chairperson and former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia, and BNP's acting chairman Tarique Rahman will be presented.
Cultural performances by pro-BNP cultural organisation JASAS and documentary screenings will also take place.
Additionally, BNP's 31-point outline for building a safe, prosperous, and democratic Bangladesh will be presented to the public. The theme song of the entire programme is "Sobar Age Bangladesh" (Bangladesh First before everything).
After travelling through all the divisions, the Victory Torch will finally arrive in Dhaka on 16 December.
On the same day, the "Victory Torch Road Show in the Month of Victory" will conclude with a grand rally at Manik Mia Avenue in Dhaka.
Alongside this special programme, other activities of the Month of Victory will continue to be celebrated as well.
