Police officials Biplob, Mehedi suspended for unauthorised absence for 6 months
Biplob and Mehedi have been absent from their duties since 6 August 2024 without informing the appropriate authorities

Biplob Kumar Sarker, former joint commissioner (Admin and Intelligence-South) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), has been suspended for being absent from work for six months without permission or prior verbal or written notice.
SM Mehedi Hasan, former joint commissioner of the Traffic North Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), has also been suspended.
The Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued separate notifications suspending Biplob and Mehedi today (24 February).
The notifications, both signed by Senior Secretary Nasimul Gani on the President's orders, mentioned that Biplob and Mehedi have been absent from their duties since 6 August 2024 without informing the appropriate authorities.
As a result, they have been temporarily suspended from government service under Rule 2 (f) of the Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 2018.
The notice suspending Biplob said he would be assigned to the office of the Barishal Range DIG and would receive a food allowance in accordance with the rules.
As per the notice suspending Mehedi, he would be assigned to the office of the Sylhet Range DIG and would receive a food allowance in accordance with the rules.
