Biman flight from Jeddah diverted to Muscat after passenger falls ill, dies
The deceased was a resident of Chattogram.
A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Jeddah to Chattogram has been diverted to Muscat after a passenger fell critically ill onboard and later died at the airport, an airport official said today (26 August).
The passenger was Sanowara Begum, 55, a resident of Chattogram.
"After taking off from Jeddah, the passenger became seriously ill, prompting the flight to be diverted to Muscat. After landing, doctors at Muscat International Airport declared her dead," Ibrahim Khalil, public relations officer of Chattogram's Shah Amanat International Airport, told The Business Standard.

The incident involved Biman flight BG136, scheduled to operate from Jeddah to Chattogram.
Ibrahim said the aircraft later departed Muscat and was expected to land at Chattogram airport at around 2:40pm today.
Arrangements are underway to send the deceased's body to Bangladesh through the Bangladesh Embassy in Oman, according to airport authorities.
Further details regarding the passenger's cause of death were not immediately available.
