Biman flight to Dammam returns to Dhaka due to technical glitch
Flight BG-349, operated by a Boeing 777-ER aircraft with a capacity of approximately 450 passengers, departed from Dhaka at 3:33pm.
A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight bound for Dammam returned to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport today (28 July) following a technical malfunction detected mid-air.
Flight BG-349, operated by a Boeing 777-ER aircraft with a capacity of approximately 450 passengers, departed from Dhaka at 3:33pm.
However, about an hour into the journey, the flight was forced to turn back and landed safely in Dhaka at 4:33pm, said Al Masud Khan, acting manager of the airline's Public Relations Department.
He said, "The pilot received a cabin pressure warning signal. As a precautionary measure, the aircraft was brought back to Dhaka without taking any risks."
Masud khan added that the passengers were later flown to Dammam on a different aircraft and the returned aircraft was thoroughly inspected by Biman's engineering team.
"Since everything was found to be in order, the same aircraft will be used for another flight later tonight," he said.
