ACC initiates process to bring back Hasina, family members

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has initiated proceedings to bring back Sheikh Hasina and members of her family, ACC Commissioner Brigadier General (retd) Hafiz Ahsan Farid said today (22 April).
In response to a question during a briefing at the ACC headquarters, the commissioner stated necessary legal steps are being taken to ensure their return and accountability under Bangladeshi law.
He further mentioned that Tulip Siddiq, a former British MP and niece of Sheikh Hasina, will also be brought under trial as a Bangladeshi citizen.
The ACC had declared its intention to repatriate Hasina, along with others, back in January.
A number of cases has already been filed in this connection.
