Ensure no foreign interference in February election: CA to political parties
The CA warned that certain groups may try to prevent the interim government from completing its election-related duties, attempting in every possible way to obstruct the process.

Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus has urged political parties to ensure that no foreign power interferes in the upcoming national election, emphasising the need for full cooperation in organising free and fair polls.
The CA made the call during a meeting with leaders of seven political parties at State Guest House Jamuna this afternoon (2 September), CA's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam told reporters after the meeting.
He said the chief adviser described this election as "a unique national election, not merely an interim government poll", representing all the people and political parties of Bangladesh.
"The aim of this election is to build the future Bangladesh. It is a chance for the nation to stand on its own feet and govern independently. There must be no opportunity for any foreign hand to intervene. We seek your full support in ensuring the success of this election," he said, quoting the CA.
The press secretary noted that the CA also warned that obstacles will arise at every stage, and efforts will be made to create confusion and doubts. "We must remain steadfast and correct. Everyone should cooperate together," he said.
Shafiqul said the CA reaffirmed that the election will be held in the first half of February 2026, and sought advice from political parties during the meeting regarding its smooth conduct.
Yunus also stressed that the election will be conducted in a joyful and festive atmosphere. "Those who have never voted before should have a positive experience, and even those who have faced bitter experiences while voting in the past should have a better one this time," the press secretary said, quoting the CA.
The CA further warned that certain groups may try to prevent the interim government from completing its election-related duties, attempting in every possible way to obstruct the process.
"They may try to create situations to halt the election. Some signs are already visible, and more may come. We must remain vigilant. Our goal is to hold the election and transfer power to the newly elected government in February," Yunus said, as quoted by the press secretary.
Regarding the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations, the CA reminded everyone of their responsibility to ensure a peaceful environment.
"Some may attempt to create disturbances, but the festival will be celebrated peacefully across the country in a joyous atmosphere, just as it was last year," Shafiqul said, quoting Yunus.
